Internationally Recognized Tabla Artist | Featured at Iconic Venues | Mentored by Kuljit Bhamra MBE
Josh was recognised as the UK’s first student in history to complete the high school diploma in tabla.

Beyond his innovations, Josh is an internationally recognized tabla player, having been selected to perform on stages that include The Dublin Castle (a legendary venue central to the British punk and indie music scenes, credited with launching the careers of Madness, Blur, and Amy Winehouse), Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan UK (the largest centre for Indian arts in the UK), and the historic residence of Sir Ratanji Tata in London.
He believes that the tabla can be played as a sound in all kinds of music - from heavy metal to rap, bhangra to Indian classical.
After being self-taught in Indian classical music, he caught the attention of the prolific British musician Kuljit Bhamra MBE (later to become his guru in tabla) at the age of 12, when Bhamra ji spotted his talent during a visit to his elementary school and encouraged him to explore all genres.
Oftentimes, Bhamra ji would invite Josh to jam on his 300 tablas at his recording studio!
📍 Upcoming Performance Goal
Josh aspires to perform at NABC 2025 alongside top musicians like Shreya Ghoshal and Rupam Islam, in front of an expected audience of over 10,000 people.
🎼 Current Work: Symphony of Systems
Josh is currently working on his debut fusion track for the Villars Music Academy, where he is an ecopreneurship fellow of the Villars Institute. The piece, titled "Symphony of Systems", is a first of its kind tabla composition that embodies the interconnectedness of ecological and social systems through music.
Inspired by his Villars ecopreneurship fellowship and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, the track blends traditional tabla rhythms with environmental soundscapes and electronic elements. The goal is to reflect the institute’s commitment to sustainability through an innovative, multi section composition.

praise for josh
"I have known Josh for 7 years, initially as a student and now as a passionate musician. I mentored him in the art of tabla playing (Indian drumming). He showed exceptional talent, dedication and a deep understanding of the instrument from a young age. He then went on to earn a First Class Diploma with Distinction in Tabla from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (UK’s foremost Indian music conservatoire), showcasing his technical proficiency and commitment to the craft. Josh also studied my Read & Play Tabla tuition course with its revolutionary Indian Drum Notation system, and completed the GCSE Music practical component on the tabla with an 8 (A*) - the first student in the country to achieve this."
